Feedbacks on the 1st EI Annual Conference in Paris

The 1st Europa International Conference « From Pipedreams to Pipebusiness » with European sales agents and US film industry experts held on last Saturday has been « a real success; thought provoking and rooted firmly in market, social and technological trends, bringing together original and convincing viewpoints. Europa International can be proud of this first event! » said Aviva Silver, head of MEDIA programme.

The future of film’s promotion and distribution have been deciphered by excellent US professionals – the wonderful chairman Ted Hope (San Francisco Film Society) and the speakers Rose Kuo and Eugene Hernandez (Lincoln Film Center), Yan Vizinberg (Cinecliq), Ryan Werner (IFC Films), Ram Murali (Cinetic) and Richard Lorber (Kino Lorber) and around 27 European sales agents attending the meetings thanks to their organization Europa International.

Daniela Estner, vice president of Europa International, said “It is a great opportunity to get a global inside view of the American way of using social media for marketing and new media for distribution. As sales agents we always have to be one step beyond of what is going to happen next, a conference as this one helps us a lot”.

This 1st conference is part of the project Distribution 2.0 of The Match Factory supported by MEDIA Mundus. Irina Orssich, MEDIA Mundus, said “presentations and discussions were most interesting and the exchange between professionals from EU and US was very inspiring. I believe most of the participants went home with a suitcase full of ideas. This is a great success, also in the light of MEDIA Mundus”.

On last Friday, Europa International took the opportunity to gather in one hand its board for a lunch with Renate Rose and Susanne Davis (European Film Promotion) to discuss the future of the Film Sales Support, and in the other hand its members for a general assembly including the presentations of new services for anti piracy and lawyer.
